Meet Dr. David Purczinsky

David Purczinsky, DDS

I'm Dr. Purczinsky. My mission is simple yet profound: to offer unparalleled dental care and experiences to infants, children, teens, and their families. I believe that by making dental visits enjoyable and non-threatening, I can play a part in nurturing a generation of adults who view dental care positively. My aim is not just to treat but to instill confidence in young ones so that they grow up without any dental apprehensions, ensuring they always have a smile on their faces both inside and outside the dentist's office.

Excellence in Education

I began my academic journey at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning my BS in Biology in 1987. My passion for dentistry took me to the esteemed Baylor College of Dentistry, where I achieved my Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1992. Eager to further specialize, I pursued and secured a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1995, deepening my commitment to caring for young smiles.

My dedication to dental excellence goes beyond my foundational training. I believe profoundly in the power of continuous learning, making it a central ethos of my practice. I regularly attend seminars and partake in advanced continuing education programs to remain at the cutting edge of dental advancements. This ongoing commitment enables me to offer the latest and most effective treatments to my young patients. By diving deep into these educational experiences, I can personalize each child's dental journey, aiming not just for immediate care but also instilling lifelong healthy dental habits. In my view, staying updated with the latest techniques enhances the overall dental health of my patients and allows me to shape a unique approach, motivating children and families to prioritize lifelong dental wellness.

Achieving certification from the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) represents the pinnacle of credentials in pediatric dentistry. While not every pediatric dentist holds this certification, the ABPD recognizes only those who meet their rigorous standards of excellence, ensuring top-tier oral health care for infants, children, adolescents, and those with special health care needs. Earning this certification entails completing accredited training followed by a voluntary two-tier examination process. This rigorous assessment ensures that a pediatric dentist possesses the advanced knowledge, skills, and experience vital for delivering outstanding patient care. Board certification is a testament to a dentist's exceptional expertise, a benchmark that distinguishes them from their peers. Notably, fewer than 38% of pediatric specialists in the United States have earned this prestigious credential, as per ABPD statistics.

Outside the Office

I hail from McCook, Nebraska, but have called Fort Worth, Texas home for the past 34 years. My family is my anchor and joy. My beautiful spouse, Dana, and I have been blessed with four incredible children: Maggie, Nathan, Zach, and Hallie. The happiness doubled when we became grandparents to Crawford, Bowen, Jax, and Nick. Our home is also enlivened by the antics of our Old English Sheepdog, Otis, who's deaf but full of spirit, and our playful Maltipoo, Tucker.

When I'm not in the clinic, you'll likely find me surrounded by my family. We have a tradition of coming together for dinners and games several times a week. Cooking is more than just a chore for me; it's a creative outlet. Over the years, I've compiled our favorite recipes into a family cookbook, and we're gearing up for the release of its 9th edition soon! Traveling, especially to the snowy slopes of Colorado for skiing, is another cherished pastime. Dana and I also share a commitment to staying fit, often engaging in HIIT workouts together.

Beyond my profession and hobbies, two things I hold dear are my deep-rooted faith in Jesus Christ and the cherished moments I spend with my family. Every day, I'm grateful for the grace I've received and the love that surrounds me.

A Focus on Community

My commitment to the community has always been a driving force in my life. For nine years, I spearheaded the Live Thankfully-Granbury initiative, a community-wide food drive supporting Mission Granbury's Food Bank. Throughout this endeavor, I collaborated extensively with our local schools, dental and medical offices, and various Granbury businesses. Our collective efforts ensured that the food we gathered could sustain the Food Bank for nearly an entire year, empowering Mission Granbury to direct their funds to other vital services for the families of Hood County. I'm immensely proud that the groundwork I laid enabled Mission Granbury to subsequently oversee this food drive on their own. My community involvement also extends to my spiritual commitments. I've had the privilege of serving as a Commander for AWANA and a deacon at Doxology Church. Presently, I am actively engaged with Watermark Fort Worth, continuing my journey of service and community connection.
